About Us

Franklin Towne Charter Elementary School proudly opened our doors in 2009. It was the direct outgrowth of our sister school, Franklin Towne Charter High. In 2007 Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Venditti, along with Chief Academic Officer, Mr. Field, began expansion plans. In 2008 our elementary charter was granted by the School Reform Commission and a team of gifted educators and community stakeholders quickly went to work on designing the school that we are all so proud to call home.

During our first two years of operation we offered a world-class education to 300 students in grades 3, 4 and 5 at our high school campus. In 2010 we added an addition 100 students to offer 3rd through 6th grade opportunities. During these two years we were building our forever home in the heart of the Bridesburg community at 4259 Richmond Street. During these two years the Franklin Towne Administration and Board of Directors transformed an abandoned and dangerous lot and turned it into a state-of-the-art educational facility that offers opportunities to over 900 students in grades Kindergarten through 8th.

Franklin Towne Charter Elementary School's mission is, "to establish a HAPPY and NURTURING environment that both promotes and cultivates a positive learning experience for our children. By involving staff, students, and parents we plan to create a challenging and supportive school where our students can learn and grow.' Through the hard work and dedication of our students, staff, parents, community partners, administration and Board of Directors FTCE has established itself as one of the premiere educational facilities in the city.

"Both Franklin Towne Charter Elementary School and Franklin Towne Charter High School are off the charts with approval ratings. After the Bridesburg high school opened its doors in 2000, it was named a MetLife Foundation-NASSP Breakthrough School in 2010, received a National Blue Ribbon of Excellence from the Department of Education in 2014 and a 2015 School Performance Profile score of 91.3, the highest of any charter school in the city. The elementary school opened in 2009, featuring a comprehensive special education program. Both schools provide a number of clubs and leadership programs to their combined 2,000 plus students."
